Carl E. Dever, 74, passed away Friday, November 7, 2014 at Parkview Regional Medical Center in Fort Wayne.

Born in Fort Wayne, Carl served his country for 27 years in the Air Force, earning the rank of Master Sergeant. He also worked with Roush Racing, International Harvester, and Magnavox for several years.

He was a active member of Emmanuel Lutheran Church serving as and usher throughout the years. He also was a member of the American Legion Post # 82, the Boy Scouts, and was part of the organization that helped fund the Hoosier Air Museum in Auburn. Carl enjoyed camping, hunting, watching racing, and tinkering on his cars.

He loved his family and cherished his grandchildren. Surviving are his sons, Scott (Tracey) Dever of Fort Wayne, Gregory Dever of Pottstown, PA, eight grandchildren, and his first great-grandchild is on the way.Carl was preceded in death by his parents, Urcyl and Verda Dever, wife, Martha "Cathy" Dever, brothers, James and Norman Dever, and sister, Marilyn Dever.

Carl's funeral service was 1:30 pm Saturday, November 15, 2014 at Emmanuel Lutheran Church, 917 W. Jefferson Blvd with calling one hour prior. Rev. Thomas Eggold officiated. Carl was interred in Highland Park Cemetery, Fort Wayne, Indiana.
